About Me

My name is Rex Villa and I am the owner and driver of the 2004 Acura TL that has come to be known as the "Elegant Aggressor".  I purchased the car in the fall of 2009 and drove it for more than a year as the luxury sport sedan is was designed to be.  I had taken the car to two open track days at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota as nearly a stock car and saw the potential for the car as a more dedicated race car.  I then researched the car as a track car and found that Honda themselves raced a TL in the NASA 25 hours at Thunderhill and placed 1st in class and 3rd overall.  Well needless to say, I was sold on the idea.  Upon moving to Pensacola, FL for the Air Force and having a few months before starting training, I took the plunge and started converting the car to a dedicated track-only car.

Almost two years later here we are,  the "Elegant Aggressor" has ditched nearly a 1000lbs off it's stock curb weight, has seen improvements in power, suspension, brakes, and tires and is a seasoned veteran of tracks such as Road Atlanta, Autobahn CC, BIR, MAM, etc.

In the future, I will continue to improve the car, design and fabricate my own parts, and will hopefully move into NASA Time Trials and actually start competing at the tracks in my area.

I would also like to add a bit about my wonderful family that allows me to put so much time into my track/racing hobby.  My wife Alicia and I have been married since 2010 and together since 2005 and she has always been very supportive of my cars and hobbies.  I manage my time and money as best I can but she's truly a terrific wife and friend for letting me do this.  Thanks baby for being so amazing!  I also can't forget my dog, Bentley.  He's a great track day companion and is usually attracting just as much attention as my car in the paddock.

Lastly, I have to send a big thanks out to my best friend Spencer.  He has been a source of motivation and inspiration for a long time now and I can say that I definitely wouldn't be this far in the sport of racing without his "persistent" encouragement!  Spencer and his dad Ron race in NASA's TTB class and dominate most of the tracks in the midwest with their Subaru STI.  Support them by checking out their website listed below.  Once again, thanks to everyone that makes this dream a reality for me because I couldn't do any of this without the support of my friends and family!
